The authority of the church resides in the congregation in meeting, but the responsibility for the various aspects of the church’s life is delegated by the congregation to various boards. As a self-governing independent church, we call our own minister conduct our own business, elect our own officers and cooperate freely with other churches. The congregation has several boards to focus on the many aspects of the church’s ministries.
They are:
Church Council: Coordinates the work of the various boards and promotes communication among those bodies.
Diaconate Board: Care for the spiritual needs and worship programming of the church.
Mission Board: Promotes and coordinates the church’s mission projects ministries and programs.
Christian Education Board: Coordinates education activities for all age groups.
Historical Board: Collects and maintains the congregations rich historical records.
Music Board: Coordinates music and the selection of music personnel.
Board of Trustees: Supports the ministries of the congregation through the faithful and creative management of finances and property.
